Yup Johnston is spot on about the Academies, there are too many young foreign kids in the Academies. Foreign players maybe can be a quick fix for the senior squad but if the national team is to get better then there needs to be a limit to the amount of foreign kids at Academies.

There is no way that Craig Johnston can do an investigation into our national game for several reasons:1. He was a bloody good player.2. He knows what he is on about.3. He wont be afraid to publish negative results.4. He would do it for free.5. He has no ulterior motive. What the English game needs is an non-footballer with limited or no knowledge of the game to be paid a vast sum of money to sit in a plush office in London to do a 3 year long study that wouldnt get published.
