This song is so beautiful! R.E.M @ their best. This song reminds me of the love i once had. Makes me wanna go to to New York Where I've never been. New York seems like a dream to me now.

When I first heard this CD, I was thinking maybe he had his heart broken by someone. Later, I heard that his CD was political. If I interpret correctly, what a genius way to address a: political leader? Party? Not sure, but if he is talking to Bush (let's say), it sure drives home a new perspective of relationship; how the 'turning away' might happen???
