Liebman really is from the school of Coltrane on sax. Not remarkably original but as a fellow sax player one I definitely can continue to examine to expand my range and vocabulary. Very good video

Most classical songs won't feature an alto sax because that sax was made like in the later 1800's (I think). Most.

He's got a very innovative sound, and geez! he's fast. I'm primarily smooth jazz, so this kind of playing is a fun little treat to listen to. I like the interview they did with him in this video as well.

you wouldn't find too many classical unless its transposed or adapted, cuz the sax was invented like in the late 1800's, like after the classical period. so u really wouldn't find any unless they're by modern composers trying to do classic. |
