It's all about the reference frame. If you were riding a photon from the sun, it would seem a nearly instant journey. However, we on the Earth traveling at some tiny fraction of the speed of light (almost stationary relative to the photon) count off about 8 and a half minutes for the long haul to Earth. This idea of "reference frames" is one of the major concepts of Einstein's idea, and this video does well to show you the difference between the cart and the ground's point of view.

Light is an electromagnetic radiation without rest mass, but still needs time to cover an arbitrary distance. In the case of a material particle traveling with a speed near c, you have to specify a reference frame when comparing time. If you are a stationary observer, from your ref. frame the proper time measured by a clock moving with the particle will be less than your own time, but if you were in the ref. frame of the moving particle, you would see the clock ticks without any abnormalities.

i have a question,
Einstein says if some thing travels with light speed, the time has no meaning for it, means time becomes zero or it can travel in time,
but howcome it taks 8 minutes for light it self, to travel from sun to earth?

I agree with the last bit, but apparently 3 x 10 to the 8 is the universal speed limit. Anything faster goes back in time.... theoretically. So those particles would appear before Tesla started his experiment if that were the case.

but teslas energy was traveling faster than light, his average energy was traveling ~470,000 km/sec, at some points on earth the energy was traveling many times faster than this. this was how the energy was allowed to be put into the staionary waves to multiply the energy in them for industrial power at all points on earth! of course you or i cant really say what the truth is because we have been taught by other people soo we are just the spreaders of knowledge, not the discoverers, lol |
