Have you seen Baz Luhrman’s film, Australia? I visited the local Mandurah Redding Theatres and saw it - as an Australian I felt the film had a wondrous effect of bringing the local indigenous (aboriginal) people and the european people a heck of a lot closer together … towards reconciliation after the ’stolen generations’ displacement of half caste children.

Noticeably.. the 12 year old aboriginal boy actor was magnificent and he’s got a great future. He appeared clearly the most natural and relaxed of all the actors in the Australia epic.

I know the critics in America and England gave the film a darn hard time. Hmm.. wonder why? But as I told the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, it’s a matter of your personal perspective, and for me - an Australian - it was a GREAT movie for the healing it brought to us.
